Yet again the runway is alive for Resort 2013 with bold colors and luxurious fabrics, and no one does it better than Oscar de la Renta!
While simplicity may be the best way to describe de la Renta’s nonchalant demeanor during the Resort 2013 show, his incomparable line of clothing is anything but.
As models stomped the runway in brilliant shades of evergreen, cobalt and iris, spectators were given a softer look at de la Renta through a line that included form-fitting evening wear, fizzy and layered cocktail dresses and curve-embracing daywear perfect for business or play.
Some of our favorites from the line included an emerald green cocktail dress with the look and feel of circa 1940’s Hollywood Glam and a red and white gingham printed dress that flirted with both innocence and sensuality.
Every piece of the collection, from the flowy pant suit to the layered ball gown, offered a hint of sophistication and classic style. The use of homespun cotton and guipure lace gave the line crisp and unparalleled detail. Overall, Oscar de la Renta’s show was fresh, timeless and exuberant – the perfect combination for resort season.

Headphones are undergoing an extravagant transformation as of late, becoming the hot new accessory for any outfit. Designer Oscar de la Renta has collaborated on an unexpected project with rapper Dr. Dre; their euphonic creation is a brilliant morph between designer headphones and lavish earmuffs.
Available online and retailing at a shocking $695, the limited edition headphones consist of a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones covered with two fluffy puffs of luxurious fox fur. Introducing resident DJ Snow Bunny!
While the unique union of de la Renta and Dr. Dre is somewhat of a surprise, rap stars such as Nicki Minaj and Kanye West are among the renowned designer’s fans. Wondering if we can expect more hip-hop inspired creations from the expanding line in the near future…
If you would rather not pay close to $700 for these high-end furry headphones that double as ear muffs, there are alternative options equally as appealing to fashion and music enthusiasts.
Juicy Couture’s Fairisle Ear Muff Headphones are drastically less expensive and currently sell for $69.99 online. If you purchase these instead you’ll have to sadly sacrifice the Dr. Dre technology that provides an amazing high-definition sound experience. But you’re still getting a lovely pair of ear muffs!
