Were you actively looking for a job or did we head hunt you? I was looking for a job after relocating from LA, I applied through a job listing on StyleCareers and a few weeks later I got a call about the company I am with now

Describe your experience with your recruiter and/or JBCStyle/JBCconnect: It was easy and no pressure/ I came in and showed my portfolio and was contacted a few days later about an opening I had matched with. I got hired on the interview and started the very next day!

Describe your new role and what an average day consists of: Every day is different however I usually start by trying to answer as many emails as I can before the day picks up speed. I work between multiple delivers and teams so it’s usually a balancing act between scheduling, maintaining the corporate calendar and weekly deadlines, repairing showroom samples, adjusting inventory, and creating sales line sheets. In addition I assist with the pricing for the lines and am in constant communication with China; all while maintaining the company’s Instagram account!

What has been your most rewarding or satisfying experience since starting your new role? I had a design background so I have found the opportunity to learn a new end of the business extremely rewarding and beneficial to my future.

What is your favorite thing about the company culture at your new job? Wow, it is a complete 360 from my previous jobs; it is a smaller company and everyone is very easy going while still maintaining a professional work environment. The culture allows one to speak up on topics outside their job description and truly understand the decisions that are being made.

Who/what inspires you? I am inspired by everything [people, nature, art]. It’s all how you choose to look at what is in front of you.

What are your passions and interests outside the workplace? I love to travel, skydive, and am always interested in learning something new (I start glass blowing classes next week and cant wait!).

What was your favorite part of working with JBC? I loved the lack of stress. I have worked with other recruiting companies that have tried to bully me into one job or another; JBC was quick and easy and there was no outside pressure (not to mention I had a job in less then a week!!).

How did you find out about JBCStyle/JBCconnect? StyleCareers

Were you actively looking for a job or did we head hunt you? I was actively looking for a job when I came across the posting on StyleCareers. A recruiter got back to me the morning after I submitted my resume and we had set up an interview within days!

Describe your experience with your recruiter and/or JBCStyle/JBCconnect: My experience working with JBCStyle was really great. I think this was the easiest job search/interviewing experience I have ever had because I had someone to go back to and talk about what the employer was looking for. I was able to have my voice heard and I felt that JBCStyle went above and beyond to get me the package I was looking for in a workplace.

Describe your new role and what an average day consists of: As the Associate Designer I am constantly going back and forth communicating with Italy on sample sweaters of the development of prints, approving patterns and designs as well as picking the color palette for the season to come. I am also always looking at blogs and magazines for what is going on in the industry and to see what people are wearing.

What has been your most rewarding or satisfying experience since starting your new role? It has been really rewarding to watch my ideas go from concept to reality and to get the feedback when styles are in the store that customers love the designs!

Who/what inspires you? I don’t think there isn’t a designer out there who isn’t inspired by Karl Lagerfeld and his genius. Other than that, travel and women’s lives inspire me. I love to see how we can create beautiful functional garments to enhance how women feel about themselves.

I felt I could candidly talk about what I was looking for and have someone do the negotiating for me. Working with a recruiter offers such a benefit compared to trying to job search alone; I always recommend JBCStyle to friends of mine. [Thanks!]
